Residents in the municipality and the province of Florence will get free admission. Opening to the public of the rediscovered frescoes

August 2nd, on the occasion of the first Sunday of the Month (or Metropolitan Sunday), free admission is granted for residents in the municipality and the province of Florence in all civic museums including the complex of Santa Maria Novella.

Opening hours: 13,00-17,00 (last entry at 16,00)

The rediscovered frescoes

Like every first Sunday of the month (and the two previous days) it is possible to visit the celebrated frescoes of Santa Maria Novella. These are pictorial works signed by important known artists of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Considered destroyed during the various stages of the church's renovations, they were recovered only during the last restorations.
